Over in Manchester near Wythenshawe Park, was one of the finest 10 mile fields ever assembled for this race. With 4 men smashing the holy grail of 50 minutes (sub 5:00 m/m), and over 38 runners breaking 1 hour (6:00 m/m), Ellesmere Ports representatives were going to find it tough to stay the pace.
First home for the club was Allison Hughes coming home in 114th position in a time of 1:08:45 (6:52 m/m) which represents a new PB and shows that with Alison now doing Triathlons, it's not all about running everyday as she's now hitting her best ever form. Close behind her was Jason Bennett in 1:09:50 (6:59 m/m) showing good consistency before his upcoming Fleetwood Marathon.
Winning the race in 47:35 (4:45 m/m), was Ezekiel Chebon from Birchfield Harriors/Kenya, 2nd was Mark Miles of Belgrave Harriors in 47:40 (4:46 m/m) with 3rd place being picked up by David Webb from Leeds City Athletic Club in 47:47 (4:47 m/m).
