MARSHALL MATTERS

Chris Marshall ran one of, if not THE best race of his running career in the Manchester Trafford 10k on Sunday 7th.  Coming home 38th in a top quality field like Trafford is no easy task but the best was yet to come. Posting a time of 36:47 and knocking half a minute of his previous best, Chris will be all guns blazing for the forth coming multi terrain series and Saturdays Inter Club Cheshire Relays.

Following Chris was Alison Hughes who's now using shorter faster races as speed work. Coming home 104th in a time of 41:32, shows she's getting that base speed needed for a sub 1:30 half marathon.

The men's race was won in 31:09 by Ben Fish of Blackburn Harriers with the ladies race won by Tessa Walker of Salford in a superb 35:50.

Wolverhampton Half Marathon

Mark Dodd made the 150 mile round trip to Wolverhampton for the popular half and full marathons on the 7th September.

Luckily for Mark he chose the half and after faltering badly at the 4 mile Mark was counting his lucky stars he did.

Running a disappointing 1:38:02 Mark will have to up the quality for this Saturdays Cheshire relays if he doesn't want to let the team down
