Flying the orange flag for EPRC in the seniors race around this fast 3 lap course were Alison Macdonald, Mark Fidler and Julia Fidler. Alison again put herself amongst the honours by securing 65th position and first lady vet 40 in a time of 36m3s. Finishing within touching distance of Alison was Mark in a time of 36m12s for 67th position, with Julia once again putting in a very credible performance in a high quality field finishing100th overall in a time of 44m43s. EPRC were also represented in the junior races by Eve Burns and Freya Burns, both competing over a 2.65km course. Unfortunately illness forced Eve to retire before the end of the race. However, Freya completed the course in a superb time, which showed that she was undaunted by being the youngest entrant in the race and competing against runners up to 4 years older.

Fantastic PB’s all round for EPRC’s three fleet footed competitors in this new addition to the race calendar. First home in a scorching time of 16m48s was the flying Frenchman, Denis Duret. Clearly benefiting from recent consistency of training and helpful training advice from fellow club members on the club’s forum, both Paul Ashley in 18m57s and Jason Bennett in 189m33s secured impressive PB and both are now starting to reveal the extent of their potential.
New Starter Night on Wednesday 4 June 2008
EPRC will be hosting their first summer new starter night on 4 June 2008. Runners of all abilities and ages are welcome to attend. Just turn up at the Whitby Club on Whitby Road at 6.45 when you will be met by EPRC’s Gary Richards and a number of other friendly faces.
