Ellesmere Port running club's Nicky Bird headed to Warrington last Wednesday evening for the Forest Park Ladies 5K race.
With 176 ladies participating in the race Nicky pulled away from her only challenger after 3 kilometres to win the race in 18 minutes 12 seconds some 35 seconds ahead of second place Claire Davies of Spectrum Striders who finished in 18.47.
On Thursday night 6 EPRC runners made the trip across the border to Shotton for the second in the series of the Deeside 5 Mile multi terrain race along the bank of the river Dee.
Buckley AC's Clive West once again won the race in a time of 26.12 with West Cheshire's Duncan Bell second in 26.59.
First runner home for Ellesmere Port was Ian Cooper who completed the course in 28.30 to secure 8 th position.
Steve Crowe was the next runner home for the club after posting a time of 29.09 for 15 th position.
Matt Whitfield shaved a few seconds of his PB with a time of 30.54 securing 23 rd position.
Paul Welsh was the next runner to cross the line for Ellesmere Port with a time of 34.21 for 55 th place
Andrew Hunt was to finish in 71 st place in 37.48 and was soon followed by Alison Hughes who came home in 38.26 to secure 73 rd position.
Last Sunday 10 th July, Paul Roberston participated in the Burden 10K challenge near Bolton and finished 10 th vet 40 in a time of 42.17
On Thursday 30 th July Matt Whitfield headed to the newly named Manchester Sizzler 5K and posted a good time of 18.38 for 71 st position.
