Sunday the 13th August, seen Ellesmere Port Running Clubs newest acquisition Steve Laker, take part in the Isle Of Man Half Marathon.
Winning the race was Paul Clarke of Manx Harriers in a good time of 1:15:03, followed by Kevin Loundes also of Manx Harriers in 1:16:08 with 3rd position going to Barry Wesham of RRAII runners in 1:18:09.
Producing a fine performance, EPRC’s Steve Laker managed 19th position out of 217 runners in a solid time and a PB of 1:31:20. Looks like Steve will be a fine point’s contender for the North West Borders League starting this October.
Wednesday 23rd August 7.00pm, will see the annual running of Ellesmere Port’s 5k race. Kicking off at Capenhurst village, the course is flat with great PB potential. There are changing, shower and bar facilities. Anyone wishing to enter can enter on the night. Affiliated club runners £6 with unattached runners an extra pound.
