Making the 5 minute trip to Capenhurst Running Club were Simon Jeffs, Tony Hyland and the much missed Chris Marshall joining 70+ other runners for their annual 10k race.
In perfect weather conditions and one of the flattest courses around, Simon was the first man home for Ellesmere Port Running Club in a time of 35:38 and 3rd Male overall. Slightly disappointed with his performance, Simon is now eyeing up the Warrington 10k a week on Thursday to dip under the seemingly elusive 35 minutes barrier.
Just a few short minutes behind Simon, was Tony Hyland running a solid race in 39:30. Hoping to race himself fit during these summer months, with hopefully a full on target and assault on an autumn 10k.
Resurrecting his running career and also, in his first comeback race for Ellesmere Port runners, was Chris Marshall. After spending the last few months running up and down vale in Wales, Chris was ready to make an appearance on the road racing circuit and excelled producing a great comeback time of 39:50. Hopefully, within the next 4-6 weeks Chris will be firing on all cylinders again and be charging towards his current PB of 37 minutes.
