One of the toughest 20 mile road races in the UK was held on Sunday in Wales, the Rhayader 20. In decent conditions, three EPRC members who're all in training for London in April, ventured bravely onto the tough course.
First home for the club was the ever improving Jon Cole in 2:34:30 (7:43 m/m) and 80th position. Next and only 19 seconds behind was the experienced Dave Nalder in 2:34:49 (7:44 m/m) and 84th place. Last but not least was Alison Hughes in 2:39:19 (7:57 m/m) and 99th position. All three deserve a lot of praise running quality times like these on such a tough course.
The hills didn't stop the race being won in a scintillating time of 1:59:29 (5:59 m/m) by Port Talbots Steve Rees. The ladies race was won in 2:23:17 (7:10 m/m) by Reading Running Club's Elaine Lever.
