Ellesmere Port Running Club's fifth staging of the Capenhurst 5K saw a record number of 159 runners cross the finish line last Wednesday evening.
The race was won by Liverpool Harriers Adam Peers in a time of 15.33 with Wrexham AC's Emma Parry taking first in the ladies race in 17.44.
The first Ellesmere Port RC runner to finish was Matt Whitfield whose time of 18.42 was good enough to win Matt first prize in the over 50 age category. Danny Legg managed to squeeze under the 20 min barrier by coming home in a time of 19.54 to finish in 48th position. Next home for the club was Jon Hawker who crossed the line in 20.03 for 53rd position.
David Roberts was the 4th EPRC runner to finish after posting a time of 20.37 for 67th place and Brian Griffiths was the final male runner for the tango boys to finish in a time of 21.14 for 74th position.
The sole lady to represent Ellesmere Port on the night was Alison Macdonald who collected the prize for first over 40 by finishing in a solid 20.57.
