EPRC Club Championship Results 2019
As 2019 draws to a close, it’s time to tally up the final points for Ellesmere Port Running Clubs Championship for the year.
Some highlights for the season were:
Strong performances ensured that plenty of points were racked up throughout the season, with modified scoring (introduced after feedback at the 2018 AGM) ensuring the jostling of positions at all ability levels.
Orange vests in excess of 50 dominated the; Village bakery half marathon, Chester half marathon and Borders Kelsterton outings – a sight to behold!
Strong performances at Cross Country squeezed out valuable points for the hardened mud loving crew, who put in solid performances – event after event.
Male top three
Finishing of his impressive season of personal bests and club records, saw Dave Bennett storming into the lead with 340 points, followed by a consistent John Stone on 238 points and Matt Gibbs in third place with an impressive 223 points.
Female top three
Claire Wyn-Jones pulled off performance after performance to land an impressive 257 points, closely followed by Lisa Dennis who was fully committed to the orange vest, by attending the bulk of qualifying runs and earning 228 points, followed by Sara Avery tallying 225 points after another excellent season.
A total of 59 males and 61 females scored in the 2019 season, with an impressive total of 5,888 points.
