No, beginners night is free to attend but we will be accepting donations each week for our local hospice The Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
You will only need to pay a membership fee on joining the club.
If your brief is weight control, improve your fitness, upgrade from another sport, return from injury or your just another running nut, come to one of our official training nights held on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s or one of the more informal training nights highlighted in summer/winter training. We meet at the Whitby Sport & Social Club at 6.45 p.m., runs commence at 7.00 p.m. So why not come along, no qualifications necessary, just the willingness to run or jog as you see fit. ALL runs will always have a back marker, so NO ONE is left behind! Don’t feel guilty, this is a requisite of the club!
Club nights are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Monday is beginners night and is aimed specifically at those who are new to running.
Tuesday night runs offer a choice of 2 or 3 different routes – the longest being around 8 miles and the shortest being 4-5 miles.
Thursday night is quality night and those who would like to can do interval training – usually 1 mile, 1km or 500m repeats. There is also a run route of around 5 miles.
All club runs have a back marker so that nobody is left behind and all sessions see members arriving at the Whitby Club from 18:45 for a 19:00 start.
Join us for a training session at out main club night on a Tuesday or on a Thursday. The club meets on both nights from 6.45pm at the Whitby Sports Social Club. You are welcome to try the club out a few times before joining and becoming a member.
The committee is responsible for the effective running of the club. It is managed by volunteers who give their time to allow the club to prosper.
