ELLESMERE PORT RUNNING CLUB
PERSONAL BEST / CLUB RECORD NOTICE FOR OUR MEMBERS
Ellesmere Port RC’s running club records are set by data contained in the Power of 10 (PO10) online database, linked to England Athletic. The key reasons for this are:
- PO10 is the authoritative source of event times for UK Athletics (UKA), only events licensed by UKA count.
- PO10 verify if a race is eligible for ranking. This is indicated by the event code, (see section below for more detail)
- Data is scraped from this source automagically, to remove the need for individual checks and inserted into the club members profile. To simplify this, PO10 is the only source scraped.
The criteria for an EPRC Personal or Club Record is:
- Set in an event that does not have a prefix or suffix indicating that the event was deemed SHORT, MT, ZXC/ZMT/ZRD, NAD, NS etc.
- The member must be registered with an PO10 profile and be linked to Ellesmere Port RC
- Only events that meet points 1 & 2 while the member runs for Ellesmere Port RC count.
Please note: The event organiser has 14 days to upload the results, until the event is determined to be eligible for ranking, the notification of a Club Record or member profile will not be sent/updated.

My performance is missing?
There are several reasons why performances may be missing from your profile and/or the rankings. The most common reasons are noted on the FAQ page of PO10, including what to do in these instances: https://www.thepowerof10.info/content/itemdisplay.aspx?itemid=1
What do I do if the event I ran is not deemed eligible for ranking?
Any UKA member is entitled to challenge PO10 classification directly with the PO10 and will review and have been known to change the status. If this happened the record would stand and would be automagically pulled through on the next update, however it’s the responsibility of the member to liaise with PO10 directly.
Event Codes Explained:
Each different event is given an event code. Some are obvious: “100” “10K”, others less so:
- Age groups, e.g. 60HU20W/SPU15M
- SC, Steeplechase
- WC, Wheelchair
- SHORT10K, short – not eligible for rankings.
- MT, multi-terrain – not eligible for rankings (can’t be accurately measured).
- ZXC/ZMT/ZRD for cross country/multi terrain/road races where the distance is either unknown or non-standard;
- NAD, e.g. some events where the distance has not been officially measured but is thought to be “Near As Dammit” the advertised distance.
- NS, Non-standard event, such as missing hurdle/steeplechase barrier or non-standard hurdles. NS after any event code means the event is ineligible for the rankings.
